Nutrimill Grain Mill

I decided to purchase the Nutrimill Grain Mill after seeing it in action at a cooking class I attended.

It has a variable speed motor and the ability to grind your grain with different textures, from fine to coarse.

This machine does a fantastic job of turning gluten free grains into a wonderful flour to use.

After trial and error, I have found it is best to grind each grain or bean separately, because they require different settings. For brown and white rice flour, set the speed control to high and the texture control to line up with the letter "o" in the word coarse. This produces a very fine textured flour. There is no gritty feel to it at all!

For bean flour, I set the speed control to  high and the texture control to line up with the "r" in the word coarse. This also produces a very fine textured flour. Then I just mix them together. I have had everyone smell the gluten free flour blend when it is freshly ground. I wish you could smell it, it is amazing! The aroma is very fragrant and smells just like wheat flour.

I have fallen in love with the fresh gluten free flour blends I am able to produce using the Nutrimill Grain mill. I highly recommend grinding your own flour. It cannot be beat in terms of flavor, nutrition and texture!

Thanks! I am getting ready to try a gluten-free diet and want to use my Nutrimill and breadmaker, so this is helpful. It is so intimidating – so much to research and figure out.

You know, it doesn’t have to be intimidating. You just need some good basic recipes to get your feet wet and get started. I would begin with a cookie recipe, a pancake/waffle recipe and then a simple dessert. i have many recipes here that will help you to bake like an expert. Try them out and let me know how you do! I really want to help any way I can.
