Make this gluten free spice mix and throw out your pumpkin pie or allspice mixes.
You won’t need them once you have this on hand. It has a nice well rounded flavor and rivals any sweet spice blend on the market. Don’t pay for specialty blends when you have everything you need in your own pantry.
Use this in place of plain cinnamon when you want a little extra kick in your baking.
Gluten Free Sweet Spice Mix
10 Tbsp. ground cinnamon
2 Tbsp. ground nutmeg
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. ground cloves
Place all the spices in a small bowl and whisk together to combine. Place in a recycled jar with a tight fitting lid. Make as many batches as you want to fill up your jar. Be sure to put a label on and date it so you know when you made this. Don’t keep it around longer than one year because the spices will have lost a lot of their potency by then.
When you want to use it, shake it up a little to mix everything together. Dip in your teaspoon or tablespoon and have at it.
You can easily make these into gifts. Find cute jars at estate sales or yard sales. Clean them up, put on cute labels and package in a bag or basket along with some cookie mix and fun shaped spatula. I wouldn’t turn down a gift like that.
Find someone you know and surprise them.
Happy Baking!
