Full of burger flavors, this chopped salad would make a wonderful buffet meal. Place everything in bowls, let your family and/or guests chose the toppings they want. Me….I go for everything! Bring it on…..
Cheeseburger Chopped Salad
Ingredients:
1 1/4 lb lean ground beef
1 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp pepper
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
6 cups (or more) chopped romaine lettuce or lettuce of choice (use what you like)
2 ripe avocados, chopped and lightly tossed with lemon juice to prevent browning
1 large tomato, chopped
1 small red onion, chopped
1 (8-oz) block Cheddar cheese, shredded
Favorite salad dressings, set out at least 2 or 3
Directions:
If you have pre-cooked ground beef in the freezer take that out and let it thaw or pop in the microwave.
If you haven’t thought that far ahead, brown the ground beef in a large skillet leaving it in large clumps (so it looks like cut up burger patties) and cook until done. If you don’t care, just cook it till done anyway. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and stir.
You can combine everything in a large bowl and toss together, or you can place everything in individual bowls and let everyone choose for themselves.
Depends on how many dishes you want to do later. Or you could be sneaky and place everything in paper bowls so all you have to do is throw it away later.
Serve with orange segments or tart grapefruit segments. Either one would be great.
