Use a quick biscuit dough to make these flaky donuts.
Gluten free donuts are hard to come by around here. About the only way to get any is to make them yourself or buy the frozen ones. Now, I’m not knocking the frozen ones, but they leave a little something to be desired.
Get out your fryer and try these delicious looking beauties from Gluten Free on a Shoestring.
Just follow along with the recipe for biscuits first and then read up on how to fry them into flaky rounds of goodness.
You can even make donut holes!
Aren’t they the cutest things!
Here is the list of ingredients you will need for the biscuits:
2 cups (280 g)Â all-purpose gluten-free flour, plus more for sprinkling
1 teaspoon xanthan gum (omit if your blend already contains it)
7 tablespoons (42 g) nonfat dry milk (blended into a fine powder)
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
8 tablespoons (112 g) unsalted butter, roughly chopped and chilled
7 fluid ounces (14 tablespoons) milk or cream, chilled
